As part of #CycleToWorkDay, Platform Airport City hosted its Cycle Surgery which provides workers at Airport City with basic health checks and minor repairs for bikes.
The Dr Bike service, in partnership with Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM), is delivered by experienced and qualified cycle mechanics at revolveMCR and provides bike safety checks at Platform Airport City, situated within Manchester Airport’s Transport Interchange.
The session can provide basic health checks on bikes including: Adjusting brakes and saddle height, realigning handlebars, ensure correct tyre pressure, lubrication of chains, repairing punctures and other small on-site fixes where possible, providing advice about more complex repair/weekly servicing requirements, answering general questions about cycle maintenance and cycling.
Occupiers at Airport City Manchester can also now commute to work via the new Airport City Cycleway, which is an ideal route to get you to and from Manchester Airport from Wythenshawe, Timperley and Sale.
The 6km route is largely traffic-free and takes in quiet streets with some busier sections of the cycleway separated from other traffic, taking an estimated 25-minute cycle time to get to work.
